Adventures with ALICE: Bermuda to Maine

Leaving Bermuda, we passed our friends the Cowans on the 60 foot schooner Koukla.

They shot this rare at-sea photo of us. Does it look like we are having fun yet?

The next day we were 55 miles ahead, and by the 4th day we were 200 miles ahead!

Of course this was all because Alice's crew are such hard workers. The A team crew, Rich Deroy (who has at least 3000 Alice frequent sailor miles) and Luke McFadden joined us in Bermuda, so with four aboard we had easy 3 hour watches and lots of time for chat.

For crew happiness, it's important to keep good food on the table. Miller just started thinking about mahi-mahi, and look what struck the lure. This four footer was landed, cleaned, and filleted all while Chris gabbed on the radio with Herb. That's teamwork!

Dolphins gave several  ballet performances, thrilling in their grace and skill.

Luke and Rich are probably just looking at what Miller is whipping up in the galley. She put the rest of us to shame as a sea cook.

A few calms are inevitable, but they have their own special beauty. Of course, best appreciated to the rumble of our big deisel.
